Adapted to the North

LONE is a tetraploid, Norwegian variety of red clover, bred by Planteforsk and in the official Norwegian, North-Swedish and Finnish trials, LONE has shown stable and very high yields in Green- and drymatter. Tetraploid varieties are normally more vigorously growing than diploid, and here LONE is no exception. LONE is not very early flowering, but gives anyway a very high yield in first cut. The regrowth is very vigorous - resulting in a high total yield.

Fine Results in Finland

Lone has participated in the national variety testing in Finland and the results show a very high yield of drymatter - especially in Zone 2 and 3. The yield in 1st. year is the highest among the tested varieties - 15% more than the control variety. The winterdamage of Lone is medium to low in zone 2 and 3. Lone is suited in mixtures for silage in the southern and central part of Finland.
