For cutting

Lucerne MARSHAL is very well adapted to cutting and can be utilized for hay, silage (fi. wrap) or dried green pellets/hay. MARSHAL yields very high amount of drymatter and has good persistency. Three or even four years of use is not unusual.

Easy growing

Lucerne grows best on well-drained, deep soil where it, with the deep taproot, is able to utilize water and nutrients from great soil depth. Lucerne is sensitive to heavy traffic and the yield drops considerably by more than 3-4 cuts per year. Because of the deep rootsystem, lucerne is draining the soil very well and at the same time lucerne is a perfect break crop in the rotation.

Good feed for cattle

Lucerne is wellknown as a good feed for cattle due to the high content of protein and other nutrients.  Lucerne has a high speed of passage and degradation of NDF in the rumen, where also the degradation of particles is quick. This brings high feed intake and high yield of milk and meat. Palatability is fine too, so cows very willingly eat lucerne.

Marshal yields very well (hkg DM/ha)
