ForageMaxThe mixtures
The ForageMax mixtures are developed through years of experience in Denmark and throughout Europe. Trials and demonstrations in several countries have been made, also by the Danish Agricultural Advisory Service. As a result of this experience we have formulated the very best mixtures that fulfill the increasing demand of modern agriculture.
Mixtures for conservation consist of red clover and tall growing grasses. The tall grasses are very high yielders and these mixtures require harvesting 3-4 times per season depending on the climatic conditions.
Mixtures for grazing are made up of white clover and lower growing grasses. The quality of the grass is maintained at a high level throughout the summer.
Mixtures for both conservation and grazing are made up of low and taller growing, dense grasses with white clover varieties of the tall growing types.
Clover is an important component in high quality mixtures as it secures a considerable Nitrogen fixation, which reduces the demand for input of fertilizers. Compared to grass, the digestibility of white clover is very high. Research programs in both Denmark and the USA show an increase in milk production when the digestibility of organic matter is increased.
