Microclover

(Trifolium repens)

DLF-TRIFOLIUM has developed special and very small leaved types of white clover - microclover - for use in lawns together with grasses.

The plants are thin with very small leaves and they tolerate frequent close mowing. Microclover is tolerant to moderate wear, which makes them suitable for both sports fields and gardens. Microclover has a low growth and it remains low in the lawn in contrast to forage white clovers, which form big and strong patches of clover. Microclover uses atmospheric Nitrogen and thus ensures an even supply of nitrogenous fertiliser for the surrounding grass, avoiding the need for artificial fertiliser. The result is a fresh green grass colour and fewer diseases. With microclover in the lawn it stays more green not only in spring and autumn, but also in dry periods in summer!

Our development of microclover places special emphasis on:

  • even distribution and not very aggressive growth together with the grass
  • low growth and small leaves
  • durability, also during wear
  • good seed yield
