Microclover® – a permanent green turf with little effort
Everybody dreams of a turf or park being green the whole year without using additional fertilizers, and of a turf standing a drought period in summer staying nicely green. Now we are a bit closer to that dream. After a long period of breeding and development, a new mixture combination of very small-leaved white clover and high quality turf grasses has been created. This mixture is a revolution in greening various places.
During three years of trial at Betzdorf, Germany, the area with this mixture showed the following quality aspects:
A very dense sward
A nice middle green colour during the whole year
No need for extra fertilizer
No weed infestation
The appearance of a turf with microclover® is equal to a nicely maintained turf only if you look closer, the clover can be identified in the sward. The clover is equally spread over the area and the leaves are very integrated in a very homogenous way into the grass.
The white clover lives in symbiosis with a legume bacterium, which is able to detract air nitrogen and deliver the nitrogen to the clover and the grass. The result is a self-fertilizing plant standing with a homogenous and nice green color all year.
